15 more people have been helped back into work by a Jobs Club set up by local MP for Warrington South, David Mowat.
Founded by Mr Mowat in 2009, the Jobs Club has now completed its 9th season, with more than 160 people having been helped. Participants complete an ILM Level 2 Team Leadership Qualification and also receive mentoring from local businesspeople.
David Mowat was on hand to present the prizes recently and the graduates were also able to hear from guest speaker Susan Kemp, herself a former Jobs Club graduate, who went on to found Appleton Baby Massage.
Mr Mowat is also hosting a Jobs Fair at the Parr Hall on Friday 7th February where more local people will be able to meet with local employers. For more information visit www.warringtonjobsfair.com
David Mowat said:
"Having had a career in business, I see it as part of my role as an MP to use my experience to help create jobs for people in Warrington.
"We've been fortunate that the number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance has been falling steadily for several months but we can't afford to be complacent. That's why I'm bringing back the hugely successful Warrington Jobs Fair next year and why I'll be running another season of the Jobs Club in 2014."
