Last weekend the Queen formally approved the appointment of Warrington South MP David Mowat as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health.
Mr Mowat is the first Warrington MP to hold his own ministerial portfolio, although some parts of south Warrington formed part of the Runcorn constituency when it was held by the then Secretary of State for Education Mark Carlisle.
In his new role, Mr Mowat will be responsible for social care and older people
David Mowat MP said:
“I’m delighted and honoured to have been asked to join the Government and the new team at the Department of Health. There are huge challenges ahead, both for the NHS and our care services, as we deal with the effect of a population which is growing older.”
