A Plan for Britain, A Plan for Warrington

Warrington MP David Mowat, today welcomed the triggering of Article 50 and said he was determined to deliver on the Prime Minister’s Plan for Britain.

Theresa May activated Article 50 earlier today and will now lead the Conservative Government to deliver on a Plan for Britain.

The Government has launched planforbritain.gov.uk which sets out 12 negotiating objectives as we build a new and equal partnership with the European Union.

The plan means there will be a fairer society – where success is based on merit, not privilege, a stronger economy, where everybody plays by the same rules and a global Britain that is outward-looking.

Commenting on developments, David Mowat MP said:

“As the Conservative Government begins negotiations with our friends in Europe, we will provide as much certainty and clarity as we can at every stage.

“Conservatives have a plan to get the right deal for Britain abroad and a better deal for ordinary working people in Warrington too. Our Plan for Britain will deliver a country that is stronger, fairer, more united and more outward-looking than ever before.”

Our MP, like most Tories, have forgotten Margaret Thatcher’s speech in 1988 regarding the Single Market (her idea). Unlike Thatcher, May is out of her depth and I can see nothing but a disaster.

If we’re going to have a stronger, fairer UK, we’d better start investing more in education, not less. The situation is currently looking very bad for Warrington schools. Consequently, we need our local politicians standing up for issues like this, not just quoting the party line on how things will magically get better for all. If we’re jumping off this Brexit cliff, we’d better make sure that we’re doing more to support the economy and workforce of the future, but there currently seems to be a disconnect between the rose-tinted optimism that David and others are quoting and the policies that they are supporting.
